The foundation has received a generous offer for support.
The Crater Training Academy Foundation (CTAF) is hosting a raffle to raise funds for the Officer.
100% of the proceeds, will go directly to the Officer.
There are two condominiums and two separate raffles.
Each raffle will have a maximum of 100 tickets sold and tickets are $50.00 each. Prizes will be drawn, once all tickets are sold.
RAFFLE 1--the first condo is Oceanfront-(Sea Cloisters 203B)
It is a, 2 bedrooms/2 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, outdoor pool and balcony overlooking pool and ocean.
This condo has 2 queen beds and sleeps 4, Condo has full-size washer/dryer. **Note, all appliances have been updated since photos were taken
RAFFLE 2--the second condo is Oceanview-(Tilghman Beach & Golf, unit 8010)
This unit is located across the street and is 3 bedrooms/3 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, indoor and outdoor pools and hot-tubs, lazy river, small kid’s water park area, poolside bar/snack bar, gym, large balcony overlooking outdoor pool and ocean.
This condo has 1 king bed in master bedroom, 2 queen beds in bedroom 2, and 1 queen bed in bedroom 3 and one sleeper sofa. This condo sleeps 10. Condo has full-size washer/dryer.”
The value of the prize (depending on the week selected) ranges from $800.00 to $2,800.00, weekly rate.
A maximum of 100 tickets (at $50.00 each) will be sold for each of the two raffles.
Both units are privately owned and winner will need to contact owner and will have one year from drawing to book their vacation. Travel arrangements (to and from) are the responsibility of the Winner.
Stay will be from Saturday to Saturday, with dates to be mutually agreed upon between owner and winner.

On Friday, July 28, 2023, Capitol Police Recruit Alton Mickle was on his way to the police academy at Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy. He was traveling eastbound and stopped in the left travel lane on County Drive to make a left turn onto the Academies driveway when he was rear-ended. He had to be med-flighted to Chippenham Hospital where he immediately went into surgery. To date, Alton is still out of work.
Alton started his career with VA Capitol Police in March of 2023, so he has limited access to benefits and leave. This unexpected event has caused some financial hardships.
Alton was sworn in as a Police Officer of the Virginia Capitol Police in June 2023 before starting the Police Academy in July. Alton is also a Veteran of the US Army.
